International debut

Touring the Miracle Kitchen exhibit presented Whirlpool with a unique opportunity to find global brand partners. In 1957, Whirlpool partnered with Brazil’s Companhia Industrial e Comercial Brasmotor, eventually bringing two of South America’s foremost brands, Brastemp and Consul, into the fold.

In 1969, Whirlpool took a 17 percent stake in John Inglis Co. Ltd., expanding its presence in the Canadian market.
