Jeff Fettig’s legacy is marked by his ability to balance strategic risk-taking with a practical approach to business. These qualities fostered a culture of accountability. Even amid a global recession and the growth of China’s economy to overtake the U.S., Fettig’s cool head and strong leadership enabled strategic decisions that helped Whirlpool navigate the new millennium while emphasizing a culture of accountability.
During Fettig’s tenure, he negotiated the Maytag acquisition, making Whirlpool the largest appliance manufacturer in the world. Fettig’s legacy also extends to the larger Whirlpool community.
In 2004, he championed the creation of the Whirlpool Corporation Charity Golf Event, which raises funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Benton Harbor and other school and youth programs.
